Pastor de Lasala - Order of Australia Award in
The Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Sydney Organist Pastor de Lasala has been awarded the Order of Australia (OAM).

The award is for “services to pipe organ restoration”.

Mr. Pastor was the Australian Consultant for the restoration of the 1890 Puget organ at Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart.  He was also the official translator of all the contracts and correspondence with the French organ builders during the rebuild in France and the assembly
and installation in Sydney.  All of this work Pastor performed pro bono.

Organ Recital
On Thursday 4th October, 2018 (during Term holidays) at 10am members of the Organ Historical Trust of Australia (OHTA) will visit the Chapel during their Conference.  Pastor will give a short talk on the history of the organ, then play a recital.  You are most welcome to come along and meet visiting organists, who come from overseas and interstate.

Repair of Stonework in the Chapel
The bases of the statues of Mary and Joseph have been expertly repaired by RCJ Stonemasons (see photo).  These meticulous craftsmen also worked on the stonework surrounding the stained glass windows of the Chapel and have cleaned the façade of the entrance courtyard.
